Controversy in Jamaica over Cruise Ship Pier to be Built
In Falmouth, Jamaica, there is much controversy over the construction of a 7.5 billion dollar cruise pier. Earlier this month, the PNP of Jamaica, (The Opposition People's National Party) marched on the site demanding work, forcing construction to cease. The mayor of Falmouth is aware of the questions that people have, and has prepared a group of experts to meet and answer all inquiries and hopefully calm all fears that people have. Said Gager, " We want to tell the residents . . . about the shops that will be constructed and the opportunities that will be available to them." The meeting will feature representatives from the Port Authority of Jamaica, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, contractors for the project, and environmentalists.
The construction and completion of the project will open Jamaica to even more tourists and bring even more money and business to the Falmouth. However, it will deplete the amount of undeveloped land in Jamaica and give more jobs to foreigners during construction than locals.

The Minister is proud of the outcome and says that Barbados "makes no apologies for large sums of money they invest in education every year. The citizens of Barbados want their children to have the ability to meet the demands of the world, and therefore, place a huge emphasis on learning both inside and outside the home. School is taken very seriously by both students, and parents.
The high rate of literacy in Barbados emphasizes the globalization of literacy through dispersion.
